The Slormancer is Slormite Studios' pixel art action RPG, released in 1.0 on 13 May 2025 after four years in Early Access. Three classes, the Mighty Knight, the Fierce Huntress and the Mischievous Mage, each get around 120 Slorm Reapers, and the shared Ancestral Legacy holds more than 150 elemental skills and passives. Respeccing costs nothing, so the game expects you to rebuild constantly rather than commit to one plan.

This walkthrough takes you from your first session to endgame content. Each phase has specific goals, priorities, and milestones. New to the game? Start with our beginner's guide first.

Phase 1: Getting Started (Campaign expeditions)

Procedurally generated runs through seven environments where you meet elites and bosses and open Breaches for reaper drops. Expeditions are the most efficient early source of Goldus, Slorm and experience.

Level/Difficulty: Level 1 to campaign completion Key Rewards: Goldus, Slorm, Ancestral Stones, first reapers

What to Do in Campaign expeditions

  1. Learn Slorm Reapers. Each class has roughly 120 reapers and each one carries a named effect a whole build can be shaped around, not just a weapon damage number. Spend your first session getting comfortable with this.
  2. Pick Huntress as your starting build. See our builds guide for why.
  3. Swap between all three classes in town before you settle. Characters share the town and you lose nothing by testing the Knight, Huntress and Mage for an hour each rather than reading a tier list.
  4. Acquire your first equipment upgrade: Kah-Veer or whatever's available.
  5. Clear all main content before moving on.

Phase 1 Checklist

  • Understand Slorm Reapers fundamentals
  • Huntress selected and functional
  • Campaign expeditions main content cleared
  • Ready for The Battlefield

Phase 2: Early Game (The Battlefield)

The first endgame activity after the campaign, and the gentlest of the three. It is where you gear check a build before committing to timed or wave based content.

Level/Difficulty: Post campaign entry point Key Rewards: Gear upgrades, influence toward Adam Nostrus's Trials

What to Do in The Battlefield

  1. Work on Slorm spent on skill upgrades. Slorm is the currency you pour into individual upgrades inside each skill's own tree, and you can pull every point back out for free. This system becomes critical from here on.
  2. Farm for Kah-Veer if you haven't already. It's the key upgrade for this phase.
  3. Configure a loot filter in the first few hours. Hidden items auto convert into currency, which turns the endless drop stream into passive Goldus instead of forty inventory decisions per run.
  4. Complete all objectives before pushing to The Slorm Temple.
  5. Consider whether Knight might suit your playstyle better than Huntress.

Phase 2 Checklist

  • Slorm spent on skill upgrades integrated into gameplay
  • Kah-Veer acquired
  • The Battlefield fully cleared
  • Ready for The Slorm Temple

Phase 3: Mid Game (The Slorm Temple)

A timed floor clearing challenge where speed decides how deep you get. Ultimatums unlock every ten floors, and Pure Slorm is the headline currency reward.

Level/Difficulty: Endgame, scales by floor Key Rewards: Pure Slorm and Ultimatums, upgradeable to level 3

What to Do in The Slorm Temple

  1. Master Ancestral Legacy tree. The Ancestral Legacy is a shared web of more than 150 nodes covering Fire, Ice, Thunder, Light and Shadow, bought with Ancestral Stones earned from bosses. This unlocks a new layer of gameplay.
  2. Start working toward Slorm Reapers. It's the best equipment and becomes accessible around now.
  3. Every point of Slorm you invest in a skill upgrade can be withdrawn at no cost, and Ormos handles skill respeccing. Treat every build as a draft you revise between runs.
  4. This area is the main skill check. If you can clear it, you're ready for late game.
  5. Start investing in Rune sets from the Great Forge for the tactical depth you'll need going forward.

Phase 3 Checklist

  • Ancestral Legacy tree mastered
  • Slorm Reapers acquired or in progress
  • The Slorm Temple fully cleared
  • Ready for The Great Forge

Phase 4: Late Game (The Great Forge)

Wave survival that ends in a loot chest, and the source of the rune system once you beat the Siege Leader. Reapersmith Spirits from here are what push runes toward level 15.

Level/Difficulty: Endgame, wave based scaling Key Rewards: Runes, Reapersmith Spirits, forge loot chests

What to Do in The Great Forge

  1. Finalize your build. You should be running Knight or Huntress with optimized gear.
  2. Slorm Reapers should be your primary. If you don't have it yet, prioritize getting it.
  3. Pick one legendary and level it hard rather than spreading upgrades. Arcanic Pledge only reaches roughly full beam uptime at plus 13, and the same shape applies to every other named effect.
  4. Legendary item effects optimization starts here. Small improvements compound into massive advantages.
  5. Farm this area for the resources needed to push into The Netherworld.

Phase 4 Checklist

  • Build fully optimized
  • Slorm Reapers upgraded to max
  • The Great Forge fully cleared
  • Ready for The Netherworld

Phase 5: Endgame (The Netherworld)

Opens after the second of Adam Nostrus's Trials and holds its own map with 45 Cataclysm runs and 25 Warlords to hunt. Clearing the Warlords is the road to the final fight against Ohm Agad.

Level/Difficulty: Deep endgame, after Trial two Key Rewards: Nether equipment, Warlord clears, the final boss

What to Do in The Netherworld

  1. The Netherworld tests everything. Come prepared with your best build and gear.
  2. Reapers level separately from your character through kills, so a reaper you just found will feel weak. Give a promising reaper a few full expeditions before judging its effect.
  3. The endgame loop: run The Netherworld, optimize gear, push harder content.
  4. Experiment with Turret and minion archetype for a fresh take once you've mastered the standard builds.
  5. This is where Legendary item effects mastery separates good players from great ones. See our tips guide for advanced strategies.

Phase 5 Checklist

  • Endgame content on farm
  • Best-in-slot gear acquired
  • The Netherworld fully cleared
  • Ready for challenge content

Common Progression Mistakes

  • Hoarding Slorm instead of investing it, when every point refunds for free
  • Upgrading four legendaries at once so none reach a useful proc rate
  • Judging a freshly dropped reaper before it has levelled through a few expeditions
  • Ignoring the Ancestral Legacy and running a build with no elemental scaling
  • Skipping the loot filter and drowning in drops instead of converting them to currency

Key Tips for Smooth Progression

  1. Swap between all three classes in town before you settle. Characters share the town and you lose nothing by testing the Knight, Huntress and Mage for an hour each rather than reading a tier list.
  2. Configure a loot filter in the first few hours. Hidden items auto convert into currency, which turns the endless drop stream into passive Goldus instead of forty inventory decisions per run.
  3. Every point of Slorm you invest in a skill upgrade can be withdrawn at no cost, and Ormos handles skill respeccing. Treat every build as a draft you revise between runs.
  4. Pick one legendary and level it hard rather than spreading upgrades. Arcanic Pledge only reaches roughly full beam uptime at plus 13, and the same shape applies to every other named effect.
  5. Reapers level separately from your character through kills, so a reaper you just found will feel weak. Give a promising reaper a few full expeditions before judging its effect.
