Equipment Analysis

Halfling: The cheapest unit in the game at 50 gold, from the Farmer faction. Individually useless, and the reason most tight budget campaign levels are solvable at all, because twenty bodies beat one expensive one at surrounding a target.

Hoplite: An Ancient melee unit at 180 gold with a shield and spear. It holds a line against cheap infantry without needing support, which makes it the standard front rank behind which everything else is placed.

Musketeer: A Renaissance ranged unit at 250 gold. Slow to reload but hits hard enough to matter against armoured targets, and it works best in a line where reload gaps overlap rather than stack.

Ballista: An Ancient siege unit at 900 gold that fires a heavy bolt down a flat line. It is the standard answer to a single expensive target, since the 2,000 gold Zeus and the 4,000 gold Da Vinci Tank both present a large body and no evasion.

Da Vinci Tank: The most expensive standard unit at 4,000 gold, from the Renaissance faction. It flattens infantry and takes an enormous amount of damage, but it is exactly the target that Ballistas and swarms are priced to answer.

Meta Analysis

The current meta in Totally Accurate Battle Simulator centers on Gold budget placement and Active ragdoll physics. Builds that leverage both systems outperform those that focus on only one. Our combat guide explains these interactions in depth.

What's strong right now:

  • Tribal with Halfling is the benchmark. Everything else is measured against it.
  • Faction unlocks and campaigns builds are gaining ground as players find new combinations.
  • Ancient remains essential for learning hard content. See the boss guide.

What's underrated:

  • Farmer is consistently overlooked despite being the most flexible option.
  • Musketeer offers excellent performance for its investment level.

What's overhyped:

  • Pure Renaissance builds. High ceiling but the consistency isn't there for most players.
