Back 4 Blood is Turtle Rock's four player co-op shooter about eight Cleaners holding out against the Ridden from a base called Fort Hope. The campaign runs 33 missions across four Acts and ten chapters, and the part that separates it from the studio's earlier work is the card layer: you bring a 15 card deck, draw one card between levels, and the game's Director answers with Corruption Cards that change the level you are about to play. Difficulty runs Recruit, Veteran, Nightmare and No Hope, and by Nightmare a deck that does not match your role is the reason runs end.

Choosing the right role shapes your entire experience. This guide breaks down every option: what they're good at, what they struggle with, and which one matches your playstyle. For optimized builds with full gear sets, see our builds guide.

Walker is the top pick once you understand the game's mechanics. Pair it with AA12 for the strongest overall setup.

For a Challenge

Jim offers the highest skill ceiling. It's punishing when misplayed but incredibly rewarding when mastered. Only recommended after you've completed the game with another role.
