Clicker Heroes is Playsaurus' idle game where you click a monster, hire heroes to do the clicking for you, and then wipe everything the moment resetting is faster than continuing. Progress is measured in zones, with a boss every fifth zone on a 30 second kill timer. The real game sits behind two reset buttons: Ancients bought with Hero Souls, and Outsiders bought with Ancient Souls.

This walkthrough takes you from your first session to endgame content. Each phase has specific goals, priorities, and milestones. New to the game? Start with our beginner's guide first.

Phase 1: Getting Started (Zone 100)

The first Centurion boss, Omeet, sits here and always drops exactly one Hero Soul regardless of your bonuses. Primal bosses begin appearing past this point, which is when ascension income actually starts.

Level/Difficulty: Zones 1 to 100, first run Key Rewards: First Hero Soul, primal bosses unlock, first gilds

What to Do in Zone 100

  1. Learn Zones and boss timers. Ten monsters clear a normal zone and every fifth zone is a boss with a 30 second kill window. Spend your first session getting comfortable with this.
  2. Pick Active click build as your starting build. See our builds guide for why.
  3. Keep Siyalatas and Libertas within one level of each other. The idle pair is designed to be levelled together and pushing one far ahead wastes souls that would return more on the other.
  4. Acquire your first equipment upgrade: Libertas, Ancient of Freedom or whatever's available.
  5. Clear all main content before moving on.

Phase 1 Checklist

  • Understand Zones and boss timers fundamentals
  • Active click build selected and functional
  • Zone 100 main content cleared
  • Ready for Zone 140

Phase 2: Early Game (Zone 140)

Boss health growth changes here. Up to zone 140 each boss needs roughly ten times the damage of the previous one, and after it roughly double, so the wall you hit around 140 is the last brutal one of the run.

Level/Difficulty: Zones 100 to 140 Key Rewards: The usual first ascension point for new players

What to Do in Zone 140

  1. Work on Ascension and Hero Souls. Ascending wipes gold, heroes and levels and pays out Hero Souls, each worth a permanent 10 percent DPS increase. This system becomes critical from here on.
  2. Farm for Libertas, Ancient of Freedom if you haven't already. It's the key upgrade for this phase.
  3. Level Atman before pushing deeper zones. Primal chance starts at 25 percent, and every point toward 100 percent multiplies the souls a whole run produces rather than adding a flat amount.
  4. Complete all objectives before pushing to Zone 200.
  5. Consider whether Idle build might suit your playstyle better than Active click build.

Phase 2 Checklist

  • Ascension and Hero Souls integrated into gameplay
  • Libertas, Ancient of Freedom acquired
  • Zone 140 fully cleared
  • Ready for Zone 200

Phase 3: Mid Game (Zone 200)

The second Centurion boss and the point where Atman should already be levelled enough that most bosses roll primal. Ascending here on a first run banks far more souls than stalling at 140.

Level/Difficulty: Zones 140 to 200 Key Rewards: Steady primal soul income, more gilds

What to Do in Zone 200

  1. Master Ancients. Hero Souls summon and level Ancients such as Siyalatas, Ancient of Abandon for idle damage and Fragsworth, Ancient of Wrath for click damage. This unlocks a new layer of gameplay.
  2. Start working toward Siyalatas, Ancient of Abandon. It's the best equipment and becomes accessible around now.
  3. Ascend when your progress per hour visibly stalls, not on a fixed zone. A run that has slowed to one zone every ten minutes is already paying less than a fresh run with the souls you have banked.
  4. This area is the main skill check. If you can clear it, you're ready for late game.
  5. Start investing in Transcendence and Outsiders for the tactical depth you'll need going forward.

Phase 3 Checklist

  • Ancients mastered
  • Siyalatas, Ancient of Abandon acquired or in progress
  • Zone 200 fully cleared
  • Ready for Zone 500

Phase 4: Late Game (Zone 500)

The fifth Centurion boss, reachable once your Ancient board is properly funded rather than improvised. Kumawakamaru matters more here because ten monsters per zone becomes the real time cost.

Level/Difficulty: Zones 200 to 500 Key Rewards: Large soul hauls per ascension, transcendence preparation

What to Do in Zone 500

  1. Finalize your build. You should be running Idle build or Active click build with optimized gear.
  2. Siyalatas, Ancient of Abandon should be your primary. If you don't have it yet, prioritize getting it.
  3. Move every gild onto whichever hero currently deals the most damage. Gilds are stuck on random heroes when earned, and consolidating them is free damage that costs only clicks in the menu.
  4. Gilds optimization starts here. Small improvements compound into massive advantages.
  5. Farm this area for the resources needed to push into Zone 1000.

Phase 4 Checklist

  • Build fully optimized
  • Siyalatas, Ancient of Abandon upgraded to max
  • Zone 500 fully cleared
  • Ready for Zone 1000

Phase 5: Endgame (Zone 1000)

The tenth Centurion boss and a common marker for a first transcendence rather than another ascension. Past here Ancient Souls and Outsiders drive progress more than any single Ancient level.

Level/Difficulty: Zones 500 to 1000 and beyond Key Rewards: Transcendence, Ancient Souls, the Outsider board

What to Do in Zone 1000

  1. Zone 1000 tests everything. Come prepared with your best build and gear.
  2. Buy Chor'gorloth first after your first transcendence. Cheaper Ancients compound into every other purchase, which makes it worth more than a direct damage Outsider at low Ancient Soul totals.
  3. The endgame loop: run Zone 1000, optimize gear, push harder content.
  4. Experiment with Transcendence pushing for a fresh take once you've mastered the standard builds.
  5. This is where Gilds mastery separates good players from great ones. See our tips guide for advanced strategies.

Phase 5 Checklist

  • Endgame content on farm
  • Best-in-slot gear acquired
  • Zone 1000 fully cleared
  • Ready for challenge content

Common Progression Mistakes

  • Ascending far too late and losing hours to a run that has already stalled
  • Splitting Hero Souls between idle and active Ancients so neither set performs
  • Ignoring Atman and then wondering why ascensions pay so few souls
  • Levelling skill duration Ancients while playing fully idle
  • Transcending before banking enough Hero Souls to make the Ancient Soul conversion worthwhile

Key Tips for Smooth Progression

  1. Keep Siyalatas and Libertas within one level of each other. The idle pair is designed to be levelled together and pushing one far ahead wastes souls that would return more on the other.
  2. Level Atman before pushing deeper zones. Primal chance starts at 25 percent, and every point toward 100 percent multiplies the souls a whole run produces rather than adding a flat amount.
  3. Ascend when your progress per hour visibly stalls, not on a fixed zone. A run that has slowed to one zone every ten minutes is already paying less than a fresh run with the souls you have banked.
  4. Move every gild onto whichever hero currently deals the most damage. Gilds are stuck on random heroes when earned, and consolidating them is free damage that costs only clicks in the menu.
  5. Buy Chor'gorloth first after your first transcendence. Cheaper Ancients compound into every other purchase, which makes it worth more than a direct damage Outsider at low Ancient Soul totals.
