Hell Let Loose puts 100 players into 50 versus 50 WWII combined arms battles modelled on real European and North African battlefields. A Warfare match runs 90 minutes over five strongpoints, and no side wins it without garrisons, supply trucks and somebody willing to command. Twenty maps are in rotation as of mid 2026, from Omaha Beach to Stalingrad.

Boss fights are where Hell Let Loose tests everything you've learned. This guide covers strategies for bosses across all areas, organized by progression order. For general combat techniques, see our combat guide.

Foy Bosses

Area difficulty: Easy Recommended level: Warfare and Offensive Recommended role: Rifleman with Thompson M1A1

Strategy

The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. Warfare gives each side the two strongpoints nearest its HQ and leaves the middle neutral. This is your primary tool here.

Key tips:

  • Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
  • Use Five strongpoint tug of war to create safe windows.
  • Thompson M1A1 is enough to handle everything here.

Omaha Beach Bosses

Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: Offensive focused Recommended role: Rifleman with Thompson M1A1

Strategy

Early game bosses test your understanding of Garrisons and outposts as spawns. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.

Key tips:

  • Garrisons and outposts as spawns is critical for these fights.
  • Farm Thompson M1A1 upgrades if you're struggling.
  • Consider switching to Rifleman if your current setup isn't working.

Carentan Bosses

Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: Warfare and Offensive Recommended role: Officer with M1 Garand

Strategy

Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.

Key tips:

  • You need both Five strongpoint tug of war and Manpower, munitions and fuel mastery.
  • M1 Garand makes a significant difference. Get it before attempting these.
  • See our combat guide for advanced techniques.

Stalingrad Bosses

Area difficulty: Very Hard Recommended level: Warfare and Offensive Recommended role: Officer with M1 Garand

Strategy

Late-game bosses are serious challenges. Build optimization matters as much as mechanical skill.

Key tips:

  • Make sure your build is fully optimized.
  • M1 Garand at max upgrade is recommended.
  • Study each boss's attack patterns. Most have 2-3 phases.

Kursk Bosses

Area difficulty: Extreme Recommended level: Warfare Recommended role: Officer with M1 Garand

Strategy

Endgame bosses are the ultimate test. They require mastery of all combat systems and an optimized build.

Key tips:

  • Top-tier build with best-in-slot gear is mandatory.
  • Master every mechanic. See our combat guide.
  • These fights reward patience and pattern recognition above all else.

General Boss Tips

  1. Learn before you fight: Spend your first attempt observing attack patterns. Don't try to win on attempt one.
  2. Match your build: Some bosses favor certain builds over others. Don't be afraid to switch.
  3. Upgrade your weapons: A max-upgraded M1 Garand trivializes fights that seem impossible with weaker gear.
  4. Use Five strongpoint tug of war: The core combat mechanic is your best defensive tool in every boss fight.
  5. Check the walkthrough: Our walkthrough tells you when you're ready for each boss.
