Mortal Kombat 11 launched on 23 April 2019 from NetherRealm Studios and grew to a 37-fighter roster through the Aftermath expansion and two Kombat Packs, packaged together as MK11 Ultimate from 17 November 2020. Its defining systems are Fatal Blows, Krushing Blows and Kustom Variations, wrapped around a third-person Krypt set on Shang Tsung's island. NetherRealm has long since moved on to Mortal Kombat 1, so MK11 is a finished game rather than a live one: it and its DLC were still on sale in early 2026 and it holds Steam Deck Verified status, but no balance patch is coming.

Upgrade Path
Early Game (Shang Tsung's Island (the Krypt) to Goro's Lair)
- Upgrade your starting weapons to functional level
- Craft basic defensive gear
- Save specialty materials, since you'll need them later
- Focus on Sub-Zero's Ice Klone once accessible
Mid Game (Towers of Time)
- Push Sub-Zero's Ice Klone to mid-level upgrades
- Start collecting materials for Scorpion's Spear
- Craft situational consumables for boss fights
- Upgrade build-specific gear pieces
Late Game (Klassic Towers to Kombat League)
- Max out Scorpion's Spear. This is your top priority

Crafting Mistakes to Avoid
- Spreading upgrades across multiple weapons: Focus one weapon to max before diversifying.
- Hoarding materials: Use them. The game provides enough if you farm efficiently.

- Crafting consumables too early: Save specialty materials for late-game recipes.
Resource Efficiency Tips
- Spend Krushing Blows in the first round rather than saving them. Every Krushing Blow condition resets between rounds, so a Krushing Blow you held onto and never used is damage you threw away.
- Farm Towers of Time during mid-game for the best return on time
