Visual Concepts put NBA 2K24 on Steam on 7 September 2023 with Kobe Bryant on the standard cover and ProPLAY, which converts real NBA broadcast footage into animations, in its first year. The PC release is the previous generation build, so it runs The Neighborhood rather than The City, and NBA 2K25 was the first PC entry to match the current generation console version. 2K shut the multiplayer servers down on 31 December 2025, which took MyCAREER, MyTEAM and every online mode with them.
Your choice of equipment defines your damage output and playstyle. This guide ranks every major option, explains what makes each one strong, and tells you which builds they pair best with.
Equipment Rankings

| Float Game | A | Undersized guards who get met at the rim by help defenders. | One of the badges added in NBA 2K24, covering floaters and runners from the middle of the lane. |
| Blow-By | A | Slashers and playmakers who create off the bounce rather than off screens. | Improves your chance of beating a defender off the dribble on the first step. |
| Immovable Enforcer | B | Interior bigs, screen setters and anyone guarding the post. | Another NBA 2K24 addition, aimed at holding ground under contact when you set screens or defend a bigger body. |
| 94 Feet | B | Point of attack defenders who want to force turnovers before the offence sets up. | A defensive badge for full court ball pressure, cutting the cost of hounding the ball handler from the inbound pass onward. |

Equipment Progression Path
The order you should acquire equipment as you progress:
- Starting gear → Enough to clear The Neighborhood
- Float Game → Your first real upgrade, available early
- Blow-By → Mid-game upgrade with good scaling
- Claymore → Best-in-slot, aim for this by late game
- Upgrade to max → The power spike from max upgrades is enormous
Equipment Tips
- Always upgrade your primary equipment before diversifying. One strong option beats three mediocre ones.
- Match your equipment to your build's stat priorities for maximum scaling.
- Verify what you are buying before you spend anything. NBA 2K24 was pulled from sale on 30 October 2025 and its servers closed on 31 December 2025, so any key you find on a reseller gives you Play Now and MyNBA rather than the modes the marketing was built around.
- Check our tier list for how equipment rankings affect overall build effectiveness.
