DICE's Battlefront II covers the prequel, original and sequel eras in one shooter, with 40 player Galactic Assault as the headline mode across 13 maps. The loot crate progression that dominated its 2017 launch was stripped out and replaced by class based Skill Points, and free content ran until the Scarif update in April 2020. It still fills lobbies on Steam, and Instant Action lets you play the whole thing offline against bots.
STAR WARS Battlefront II features distinct areas with increasing difficulty. This guide covers every major location in progression order: what to do, what to get, and when to move on. For the step-by-step path, see our walkthrough.
Area Progression Order

| 4 | Hoth | Galactic Assault, Co-Op | NT-242 sightlines, AT-AT and speeder play | Assault |
| 5 | Endor | Galactic Assault, Ewok Hunt, Blast | Flanking routes, Ewok Hunt achievements | Assault |
Kamino: Starting Area
Tipoca City's white corridors, fought by the Republic and Separatists across narrow walkways and cloning chambers. Sightlines are short and the platform edges kill anyone who gets knocked back.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Galactic Assault, Blast, Heroes vs Villains |
| Key Rewards | Clone Commando and Droideka value, tight corridor practice |
| Recommended Role | Heavy |
| Key Weapons | EL-16HFE |
What to Do Here
- Learn the basics of Battle Points economy. This is where you practice without heavy punishment.
- Collect starting resources and your first weapons upgrade.
- Clear all main content before moving to Naboo.
- If you're struggling, read our beginner's guide.
Naboo: Early Game
The assault on Theed, with droids pushing from the plaza through the palace hallways. It is the most consistently popular Galactic Assault map and the shortest ranged of the big ones.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Galactic Assault, Capital Supremacy, Co-Op |
| Key Rewards | Close range weapon mastery, hero heavy final phase |
| Recommended Role | Heavy |
| Key Weapons | EL-16HFE |
What to Do Here
- Focus on mastering Star Card loadouts. It's critical from this point on.
- Farm for EL-16HFE if you don't have it yet.
- Complete all objectives for maximum rewards.
- Prepare for the difficulty spike in Kashyyyk.
Kashyyyk: Mid Game
Wookiee beaches and treetop walkways, split between an open landing phase and a much tighter village fight. Wookiee Warriors are noticeably stronger here than anywhere else.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Galactic Assault, Capital Supremacy |
| Key Rewards | Reinforcement practice, mixed range engagements |
| Recommended Role | Assault |
| Key Weapons | EL-16HFE |
What to Do Here
- This is the main skill check. Bring an optimized build.
- CR-2 becomes accessible here. Prioritize getting it.
- Master Class weapon unlocks for the boss encounters.
- Check our boss guide if you get stuck.
Hoth: Late Game
The Empire walks AT-ATs toward Echo Base while the Rebellion holds turrets and trenches. Long open snow fields make it the best sniper map and the worst one for close range carbines.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Galactic Assault, Co-Op |
| Key Rewards | NT-242 sightlines, AT-AT and speeder play |
| Recommended Role | Assault |
| Key Weapons | CR-2 |
What to Do Here
- Full build optimization is expected by this point.
- CR-2 should be your primary, fully upgraded.
- Galactic Assault phases mastery starts mattering here.
- Farm resources for the push into Endor.
Endor: Endgame
Forest floor and Imperial bunker, with dense trees breaking most long sightlines. It also hosts Ewok Hunt, the asymmetric mode where Ewoks pick off Stormtroopers in the dark.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Galactic Assault, Ewok Hunt, Blast |
| Key Rewards | Flanking routes, Ewok Hunt achievements |
| Recommended Role | Assault |
| Key Weapons | CR-2 |
What to Do Here
- This is endgame. Best-in-slot gear and a perfected build are mandatory.
- See our boss guide for endgame fight strategies.
- The reward loop: clear content → upgrade → push harder content.
- Experiment with Enforcer for variety once you've mastered the meta.
Exploration Tips
- Clear areas in order: Kamino → Naboo → Kashyyyk → Hoth → Endor. Skipping areas means missing resources you'll need later.
- Check every corner: Hidden caches and secrets are often in non-obvious locations.
- Match your weapons: Some areas favor different weapons types.
- Read the walkthrough: Our walkthrough provides exact progression milestones for each area.
- Don't rush: Clearing an area fully gives more resources than speedrunning two areas.
