Respawn shipped the first Cal Kestis game on 15 November 2019, and it is a much narrower toolkit than the sequel. There are exactly two lightsaber configurations here, single and double-bladed, and three skill trees called Force, Lightsaber and Survival holding 33 skills between them. Difficulty does not pad enemy health: Story Mode, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master and Jedi Grand Master change the parry window and enemy aggression instead, so a boss has the same health bar on every setting. The route runs Bracca, Bogano, Zeffo, Kashyyyk, Dathomir, Ilum and finally Nur, and almost every chest you crack along the way holds a poncho or a lightsaber part rather than a stat.

Boss fights are where STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order tests everything you've learned. This guide covers strategies for bosses across all areas, organized by progression order. For general combat techniques, see our combat guide.

Bogano Bosses

Area difficulty: Easy Recommended level: Opening hours, 0 to 4 skill points Recommended role: Lightsaber tree duellist with Double-bladed lightsaber

Strategy

The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. The four settings are Story Mode, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master and Jedi Grand Master, and none of them touches enemy health pools. This is your primary tool here.

Key tips:

  • Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
  • Use Parry window set by difficulty to create safe windows.
  • Double-bladed lightsaber is enough to handle everything here.

Zeffo Bosses

Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: Early to mid game, across two separate visits Recommended role: Lightsaber tree duellist with Double-bladed lightsaber

Strategy

Early game bosses test your understanding of Force, Lightsaber and Survival trees. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.

Key tips:

Kashyyyk Bosses

Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: Mid game, after both Zeffo Force powers Recommended role: Force tree specialist with Single-bladed lightsaber

Strategy

Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.

Key tips:

  • You need both Parry window set by difficulty and Single and double-bladed configurations mastery.
  • Single-bladed lightsaber makes a significant difference. Get it before attempting these.
  • See our combat guide for advanced techniques.

Dathomir Bosses

Area difficulty: Very Hard Recommended level: Reachable straight after Bogano, intended for the late mid game Recommended role: Force tree specialist with Single-bladed lightsaber

Strategy

Late-game bosses are serious challenges. Build optimization matters as much as mechanical skill.

Key tips:

  • Make sure your build is fully optimized.
  • Single-bladed lightsaber at max upgrade is recommended.
  • Study each boss's attack patterns. Most have 2-3 phases.

Nur Bosses

Area difficulty: Extreme Recommended level: Endgame, after Ilum rebuilds the lightsaber Recommended role: Force tree specialist with Single-bladed lightsaber

Strategy

Endgame bosses are the ultimate test. They require mastery of all combat systems and an optimized build.

Key tips:

  • Top-tier build with best-in-slot gear is mandatory.
  • Master every mechanic. See our combat guide.
  • These fights reward patience and pattern recognition above all else.

General Boss Tips

  1. Learn before you fight: Spend your first attempt observing attack patterns. Don't try to win on attempt one.
  2. Match your build: Some bosses favor certain builds over others. Don't be afraid to switch.
  3. Upgrade your weapons: A max-upgraded Single-bladed lightsaber trivializes fights that seem impossible with weaker gear.
  4. Use Parry window set by difficulty: The core combat mechanic is your best defensive tool in every boss fight.
  5. Check the walkthrough: Our walkthrough tells you when you're ready for each boss.
