Respawn's sequel picks up five years after Fallen Order and hands Cal Kestis five lightsaber stances instead of three, with only two carried at a time. The campaign moves through Coruscant, Koboh, Jedha, the Shattered Moon, Nova Garon and Tanalorr, and Koboh's Rambler's Reach Outpost fills with rescued settlers as you clear Rumors. It reached Steam in April 2023 with a rough PC port that Respawn patched for well over a year.

This walkthrough takes you from your first session to endgame content. Each phase has specific goals, priorities, and milestones. New to the game? Start with our beginner's guide first.

Phase 1: Getting Started (Koboh)

The hub planet, home to Rambler's Reach Outpost, Pyloon's Saloon and the largest open area in the game. Almost every Rumor, most Force Tears and the majority of perk slots sit here.

Level/Difficulty: Chapter 2 onward, revisited constantly Key Rewards: Perk slots at Derelict Dam, Harvest Ridge and Smuggler's Tunnel, plus Zee's perk shop

What to Do in Koboh

  1. Learn Two of five stances equipped at once. Single, Double-bladed, Dual Wield, Blaster and Crossguard each carry their own skill tree, but Cal only holds two at a time and swaps the pair at a Meditation Point. Spend your first session getting comfortable with this.
  2. Pick Double-Bladed stance as your starting role. See our builds guide for why.
  3. Do not spread skill points across all five stances. Two fully built stances beat five half built ones, and Meditation Points refund every point for free, so respec whenever a boss walls you.
  4. Acquire your first weapons upgrade: Force Confusion or whatever's available.
  5. Clear all main content before moving on.

Phase 1 Checklist

  • Understand Two of five stances equipped at once fundamentals
  • Double-Bladed stance selected and functional
  • Koboh main content cleared
  • Ready for Jedha

Phase 2: Early Game (Jedha)

A desert world built around the Anchorite Base and the Arid Flats, and the site of Cere's hidden archive. The three Path puzzles here each hand over a perk slot.

Level/Difficulty: Mid campaign, unlocked after Koboh opens up Key Rewards: Perk slots from the Path of Restoration, Path of Persistence and Path of Conviction

What to Do in Jedha

  1. Work on Perk slots earned from Essence. Cal starts with 3 perk slots and can reach 10 by collecting Essence upgrades and finishing Jedi Meditation Chambers. This system becomes critical from here on.
  2. Farm for Force Confusion if you haven't already. It's the key upgrade for this phase.
  3. Fellowship costs 4 perk slots but raises how many stims BD-1 carries, and on Jedi Grand Master that is worth more than any damage perk. Slot it once you own at least 7 perk slots.
  4. Complete all objectives before pushing to Coruscant.
  5. Consider whether Single Blade stance might suit your playstyle better than Double-Bladed stance.

Phase 2 Checklist

  • Perk slots earned from Essence integrated into gameplay
  • Force Confusion acquired
  • Jedha fully cleared
  • Ready for Coruscant

Phase 3: Mid Game (Coruscant)

The opening level and a late-game return trip, corridor combat throughout with no open exploration. It is where Double-Bladed stance unlocks inside the first hour.

Level/Difficulty: Chapter 1 and one late chapter Key Rewards: Double-Bladed stance and the opening run of skill points

What to Do in Coruscant

  1. Master One Force meter for every power. Force Slow, Push, Pull, Lift and Confusion all drain the same meter, which refills on hits and parries rather than over time. This unlocks a new layer of gameplay.
  2. Start working toward Force Slow. It's the best weapon and becomes accessible around now.
  3. Force Slow answers almost every red unblockable attack. Slow the wind-up, land two or three hits, then dodge out before the effect expires.
  4. This area is the main skill check. If you can clear it, you're ready for late game.
  5. Start investing in BD-1 stims and Meditation Points for the tactical depth you'll need going forward.

Phase 3 Checklist

  • One Force meter for every power mastered
  • Force Slow acquired or in progress
  • Coruscant fully cleared
  • Ready for Nova Garon

Phase 4: Late Game (Nova Garon)

An Imperial base and the tightest, most linear chapter in the campaign, packed with Purge Troopers and security droids. Bring a stance that breaks guard quickly.

Level/Difficulty: Late campaign Key Rewards: Story progress and the densest elite enemy encounters in the game

What to Do in Nova Garon

  1. Finalize your build. You should be running Single Blade stance or Double-Bladed stance with optimized gear.
  2. Force Slow should be your primary. If you don't have it yet, prioritize getting it.
  3. Clear all the Jedi Meditation Chambers before the final chapter. Finishing them unlocks a map upgrade from Koboh's Alignment Control Center that marks every remaining Essence on every planet.
  4. Rumors and the Rambler's Reach hub optimization starts here. Small improvements compound into massive advantages.
  5. Farm this area for the resources needed to push into Tanalorr.

Phase 4 Checklist

  • Build fully optimized
  • Force Slow upgraded to max
  • Nova Garon fully cleared
  • Ready for Tanalorr

Phase 5: Endgame (Tanalorr)

The hidden world the entire story is chasing, reachable only through the Koboh Abyss. It is short, it is the endgame, and there is no free roam once you arrive.

Level/Difficulty: Endgame Key Rewards: Final story beats and the last skill points

What to Do in Tanalorr

  1. Tanalorr tests everything. Come prepared with your best build and gear.
  2. Rumors are not optional if you want perk slots. Rescue Skoova, Pili and the rest, because several slots and the best vendors only appear once those settlers reach Rambler's Reach.
  3. The endgame loop: run Tanalorr, optimize gear, push harder content.
  4. Experiment with Crossguard stance for a fresh take once you've mastered the standard builds.
  5. This is where Rumors and the Rambler's Reach hub mastery separates good players from great ones. See our tips guide for advanced strategies.

Phase 5 Checklist

  • Endgame content on farm
  • Best-in-slot gear acquired
  • Tanalorr fully cleared
  • Ready for challenge content

Common Progression Mistakes

  • Trying to master all five stances at once. Skill points are limited enough that a spread build is mediocre in every fight.
  • Blocking Purge Trooper combos instead of parrying. Block damage stacks fast and a broken guard is a free heavy hit against you.
  • Skipping Meditation Chambers because they look like optional puzzles. They are the main source of perk slots.
  • Hoarding stims for a boss's second phase. Stims refill at every Meditation Point, so use one the moment you drop below half health.
  • Fighting Legendary enemies like the Rancor early. They are tuned for a late-game Cal and will end a chapter 3 build in two hits.

Key Tips for Smooth Progression

  1. Do not spread skill points across all five stances. Two fully built stances beat five half built ones, and Meditation Points refund every point for free, so respec whenever a boss walls you.
  2. Fellowship costs 4 perk slots but raises how many stims BD-1 carries, and on Jedi Grand Master that is worth more than any damage perk. Slot it once you own at least 7 perk slots.
  3. Force Slow answers almost every red unblockable attack. Slow the wind-up, land two or three hits, then dodge out before the effect expires.
  4. Clear all the Jedi Meditation Chambers before the final chapter. Finishing them unlocks a map upgrade from Koboh's Alignment Control Center that marks every remaining Essence on every planet.
  5. Rumors are not optional if you want perk slots. Rescue Skoova, Pili and the rest, because several slots and the best vendors only appear once those settlers reach Rambler's Reach.
