Project Moon left Early Access with Lobotomy Corporation on 9 April 2018, putting you in charge of a facility that farms energy out of caged Abnormalities. Each of the fifty days sets an Enkephalin quota you meet by ordering agents to perform Instinct, Insight, Attachment or Repression work on things that very much do not want to cooperate. A run of bad work results drives an Abnormality's Qliphoth Counter to zero, it breaches, and a facility that looked stable at 80 percent quota can empty out in ninety seconds.
Boss fights are where Lobotomy Corporation tests everything you've learned. This guide covers strategies for bosses across all areas, organized by progression order. For general combat techniques, see our combat guide.
Boss Difficulty Overview
| Area | Difficulty | Recommended Build | Key Equipment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Control Team (Asiyah) | Easy | Information Team (Yesod) | Fourth Match Flame |
| Information Team (Asiyah) | Moderate | Information Team (Yesod) | Fourth Match Flame |
| Central Command Team (Briah) | Hard | Control Team (Malkuth) | Penitence |
| Welfare Team (Briah) | Very Hard | Control Team (Malkuth) | Penitence |
| Extraction Team (Atziluth) | Extreme | Control Team (Malkuth) | Penitence |
Control Team (Asiyah) Bosses
Area difficulty: Easy Recommended level: Days 1 to 20, Core Suppression from Day 21 Recommended build: Information Team (Yesod) with Fourth Match Flame
Strategy
The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. The number above each containment cell falls on bad work results and on triggers written specifically into that Abnormality. This is your primary tool here.
Key tips:
- Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
- Use Qliphoth Counter and breaches to create safe windows.
- Fourth Match Flame is enough to handle everything here.
Information Team (Asiyah) Bosses
Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: Days 10 to 20, Core Suppression from Day 21 Recommended build: Information Team (Yesod) with Fourth Match Flame
Strategy
Early game bosses test your understanding of Four work types and the Virtues. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.
Key tips:
- Four work types and the Virtues is critical for these fights.
- Farm Fourth Match Flame upgrades if you're struggling.
- Consider switching to Information Team (Yesod) if your current setup isn't working.
Central Command Team (Briah) Bosses
Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: Days 26 to 35, Core Suppression from Day 36 Recommended build: Control Team (Malkuth) with Penitence
Strategy
Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.
Key tips:
- You need both Qliphoth Counter and breaches and Qliphoth Meltdown timers mastery.
- Penitence makes a significant difference. Get it before attempting these.
- See our combat guide for advanced techniques.
Welfare Team (Briah) Bosses
Area difficulty: Very Hard Recommended level: Days 31 to 35, Core Suppression from Day 36 Recommended build: Control Team (Malkuth) with Penitence
Strategy
Late-game bosses are serious challenges. Build optimization matters as much as mechanical skill.
Key tips:
- Make sure your build is fully optimized.
- Penitence at max upgrade is recommended.
- Study each boss's attack patterns. Most have 2-3 phases.
Extraction Team (Atziluth) Bosses
Area difficulty: Extreme Recommended level: Days 36 to 40, Core Suppression from Day 41 Recommended build: Control Team (Malkuth) with Penitence
Strategy
Endgame bosses are the ultimate test. They require mastery of all combat systems and an optimized build.
Key tips:
- Top-tier build with best-in-slot gear is mandatory.
- Master every mechanic. See our combat guide.
- These fights reward patience and pattern recognition above all else.
General Boss Tips
- Learn before you fight: Spend your first attempt observing attack patterns. Don't try to win on attempt one.
- Match your build: Some bosses favor certain builds over others. Don't be afraid to switch.
- Upgrade your equipment: A max-upgraded Penitence trivializes fights that seem impossible with weaker gear.
- Use Qliphoth Counter and breaches: The core combat mechanic is your best defensive tool in every boss fight.
- Check the walkthrough: Our walkthrough tells you when you're ready for each boss.
