Step 1: Learn EvoSwing four-part shot grading

Each swing is scored on Contact, Rhythm, Transition and Swing Path, so a shot can be pure on tempo and still leak right because the path was off. Reading which of the four failed is the whole skill curve, because the fix for bad Rhythm is nothing like the fix for a bad Swing Path.

Step 2: Head to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass

The flagship licensed course and the one most players start on. The par 3 17th to the island green is the most famous shot in the game, and it punishes any Contact error on a short wedge.

Step 3: Get Your First Upgrade

Look for 3-Wood: it's the most accessible early upgrade. The tee club for tight holes and the second-shot club for long par 5s. It gives up meaningful distance against the driver in exchange for a much smaller miss.

Step 4: Understand MyPLAYER archetypes

You pick from Powerhouse, Technician, Magician, Greenskeeper and Sculptor, and the choice sets which attributes cap high and which stay low. Powerhouse trades short-game accuracy for distance, while Greenskeeper does roughly the opposite, so the archetype decides which courses suit you.

This is the system most new players overlook. Invest time here early. It pays off throughout the entire game.

Step 5: Push to Oakmont Country Club

Host of the 2025 U.S. Open and the hardest test in the licensed set, with the Church Pews bunker sitting between the 3rd and 4th holes. Greens are brutally fast and missing on the wrong side leaves no recovery.

Societies are player-run tours with their own schedules, rules and standings, which is how the game handles long-term online competition. They are the main reason people keep playing months after the career mode is finished.
